Brendan Ahern is the Secretary and Vice President of DGC Contracting and co-founded the company alongside Gerry Ryan in 1987. His strong work ethic and passion for the construction industry were shaped early in life while growing up on a farm in County Kerry, Ireland, where he learned the value of hard work and dedication.
Brendan pursued his studies in woodwork and building construction, completing a Junior Building Course at Tralee Regional Technical College in 1982 and a Senior Carpentry and Joinery program at Limerick College of Art, Commerce and Technology in 1983.
Following his formal training, Brendan worked with a local builder in Ireland, gaining experience on both residential and commercial projects. In 1985, he immigrated to New York and became a member of Local 608 of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters. Over the following years, he honed his expertise in finish carpentry while working on a wide range of construction projects throughout the region.
As a co-founder of DGC Contracting, Brendan has played a pivotal role in the company’s growth and success, helping establish its reputation as a trusted leader in commercial construction across the Tri-State area.
Brendan lives in Westchester County with his wife and is the proud father of three children.
