Wrapping up the project in just six months, this is the sixth sweetgreen store that DGC has completed for the company – other locations they have completed include Grand Central Station, 30 Rockefeller Plaza, 1740 Broadway, Eastchester NY, and Greenwich CT.

Working with an empty preconstruction building, DGC was responsible for all interior work consisting of both structural and design work. The showcase of the interior fit-outwas theplacement and hanging of all interior custom millwork created to mimic the Oculus building, the focal point of the store, which is featured on the walls for displays and continues up onto the ceiling. The store’s vibe is a modern industrial chic that’s bright and airy – and features pick-up stations to accommodate its growing digital-order base.

Additionally, the DGC team installed all wall finishes featuring a variety of decorative styles, such as ceramic tile, stainless wall panels and ADREX stucco, along with an assortment of floor finishes in epoxy, polished concrete and ceramic tile. Additional project installations included custom lighting fixtures, stainless kitchen equipment, digital menu boards and online pickup stations. On the structural side, they poured concrete topping slabs and concrete stairs.

Mt Vernon, NY – June 23, 2021 – DGC Capital Contracting (DGC), a leading retail and commercial general contractor in the Tri-state area, is thrilled to announce the completion of two new Mango store build outs at American Dream in Mall East Rutherford, New Jersey Roosevelt Field Mall in Garden City, New York.

The Roosevelt Field Mango store, a 3,638 square foot interior build out began in late September of 2020 and was completed in early February of this year. The American Dream Mall project, an 8,488 square foot fit build out began in November 2020 and was completed in April. 

DGC was hired by the Spanish-owned company to provide full-service planning, design and construction expertise needed to accommodate new structural storefronts featuring beautiful high-level ceilings composed of state-of-the-art recessed airflow, sophisticated lighting systems and entries featuring tall sliding glass storefront doors with recessed track systems. DGC was also responsible for implementing all electrical, lighting, HVAC and plumbing.

“The Mango American Dream Mall project, located in one the country’s largest entertainment malls, presented unique challenges simply because we had to coordinate our work with over 12 different trades and vendors, all while following unique code requirements and regulations,” said Gerry Ryan, CEO & President of DGC Capital.  “Even though these two projects had strict local and building rules, regulations and code requirements, we addressed everything with expedited review, design and value engineering. I couldn’t be more pleased with the outcome of these construction projects both from an engineering and design perspective.”

Additionally, the American Dream Mall build required provisions for seismic and deflection for potential building movement due to settling and movement of mall structure and foundations.

After the successful completion of these projects, DGC Capital and Mango will be teaming up again to build their flagship store on 5th Avenue, NYC.

Mt Vernon, NY – May 18, 2021 – DGC Capital Contracting (DGC), a leading retail and commercial general contractor in the Tri-state area, is excited to announce the recent completion of Uncle Giuseppe’s in North Babylon, New York – a 32,420 square foot store with a new 3,586 square foot mezzanine.

DGC Capital was retained to convert an old King Kullen supermarket into an architectural masterpiece that is reminiscent of Old-World Italy with finishes that put you in the heart of Venice – featuring arches, Italian tile and a fresco of the sky over the produce department. The entire construction project took a total of 16 weeks – starting in mid-August of 2020 and finishing in early December with the store opening on December 18, 2020. 

The marketplace includes all new utilities, such as:

• A modern kitchen with 55’ cooking hood.
• A fresh mozzarella room that is temperature controlled with a mozzarella making machine.
• A fresh pasta room with multiple pasta machines and a bakery with enough ovens to accommodate everything they make in-house.
• A new mezzanine, located in the rear of the store, which includes a manager’s office, human resource office, IT room, storage rooms, associates’ restroom, and a breakroom.

“Because of our ability to meet such a demanding construction schedule and the outstanding reception by the community, DGC is teaming up with Uncle Giuseppe’s again on 2 additional projects in Westchester County, NY and Morris County, NJ,” said Gerry Ryan, CEO & President at DGC Capital. “We’re extremely pleased with the outcome of the store and are beyond thrilled to have been brought onboard to create two additional marketplaces.”
